Choose the spicier BMW 440i, and you’ll trade in the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine for a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder that generates 386 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Also taking advantage of the new 48-volt mild hybrid system, this engine offers impeccable low-speed torque while featuring breathtaking performance throughout its powerband. Although this engine is capable of accelerating to 60 MPH in under four seconds, it still manages to return an EPA-estimated 34 MPG on the highway.
